Talacre and cold toes
On Monday, year 5 &6 went to Talacre to bird watch 4 specific birds. When we arrived we met Ruth Thomas who is an artist. She has been working with us from Tuesday and today she will be working with us till the end of Friday. Yesterday we made paper stencils and collage plates. Ruth has taken groups to work with her and I am going to work with her tomorrow. We went to the RSPB bird hide and we were there for 1 hour and 30 mins. Miss Fisher was kind and let us each have hot chocolate. My toes were cold!!!!!!! We left the hide and used our binoculars to see birds. On the way to the hide me, Eve and Jessica were with Miss Fisher behind everyone and we stopped to look at birds and we saw a heron. We went to the beach to have a look for more birds. When we finished on the beach most of the year 6 walked together so we could talk. We waited for the bus to take us to school. We went back to school and started with the artist the next day.

Working with an artist
DAY ONE WITH ARTIST RUTH
On Monday the 30th of January we went to Talacre bird hide for our art theme of birds. We met Ruth Thomas and Dave from the RSPB there and two women too. We were there for around 2 hours and 30 minutes. By this time we were freezing, about to turn to ice. We weren’t allowed to hang out of the window other wise the birds would fly away because they would be scared. Before we left we had our lunch and as a surprise Miss Fisher brought us some hot chocolate, marshmallows and sweets.
We left the hide and went to look for more birds but this time we went to see the plants to compare them to the galapogas island plants. There were four birds we were looking at in particular, black-tailed godwit, curlew, shelduck and pintails. I had a book about all the british birds around the world and those four birds were in there too. WE HAD A BRILLIANT DAY!!!!!!!!! Then we went back to the bus and came back to school.
DAY TWO WITH ARTIST RUTH
This morning to afternoon we are making our paper stencils and collage plates.

Our trip to Talacre
On Monday 30th of January, year 5&6 went to Talacre to go bird watching in a bird hide. We had to walk a long way to get to the bird hide!! When we got there we met a man that works for the RSPB and Ruth Thomas. The main birds that we were looking for we had already worked on in school were pintails, shelduck, curlew and a black tail godwit. We were there for about 1 hour and 30 mins. In the bird hide we used binoculars to look at the birds through the the open windows. We weren’t allowed to hang out of the window otherwise the birds would see us and wouldn’t we be able to see the birds because they would have seen us and they would be scared. We looked for about 1 hour at the birds and then we had lunch and Miss Fisher was very kind and gave us had hot-chocolate with marsh-mallows in them and we had drumstick squashies. After we had our lunch we carried on walking and we stopped and looked through the binoculars and then we went onto the beach and looked at more birds, but I think we were a bit too loud because there wasn’t a lot of birds on the beach. It was freezing cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then we went on the bus and went back to school!!! IT WAS A FANTASTIC TIME IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! On Tuesday 31st of January we worked with Ruth Thomas doing art we did paper stencils and collage plates for the whole day!!!!!
