I didn’t like the pies
Today me and Eve have been to Prestatyn high school. We went there in Maxis taxis. The first thing we did was relatives on pi with pi in the sentence .
After that we did about areas and how pi can help in the circumference also the radius and diameter/area.
Later, the teacher showed a website called pi day.org. When I did mine it was 3100 in pi.
After, we got one pie each and estimated how many pies were going to fit in to the largest circle on A4 paper. I estimated 19 or 17 pies and Eve didn’t have an estimate. When we put the pies on the A4 paper and it was 17 pies!
Then we could eat the pies. I didn’t like the pies, so I asked the the teacher if I could have a a !chocolate chip cookie! :):):):):P instead.

It smelt so good!
Today Jake and I went to Prestatyn High school for a pupils who more talented in maths. When we arrived at the high school we walked along a long glass corridor and went up some stairs to our classroom. As we walked in there was a power point with pi games like say what you see. It was really fun and because Jake and I did this power point at Holywell High school we already knew the answers so it was really easy.
After that we started to talk about pi and the numbers in it (pi is 3. 149……….. all I know is it carries on forever)
About half an hour later we were learning about circles and the radius, diameter and the circumference. We had 4 circle objects (plate, bowl, glue lid) and we had to find the radius, diameter and the circumference.
It was quite hard because the bowl and plate were really slippy so our answers were not perfect :0
Around 10 o’clock our maths teacher got cookies off her desk. She said we needed to find the circumference, volume and diameter of a cookie or a packet of cookies.
Everybody said it was hard to concentrate because the cookie was making their mouth water. We also did maths with apple pies.We had to guess how many pies we would need to go round the circumference and the diameter.
At the end the teacher said we have been sooooooo good that we could have an apple pie or a cookie.
My favourite part was when we had to find the volume, diameter and circumference of the cookie because it was really fun and it smelt so good

Today the ECO council held a coffee morning in support of fairtrade. At nine o clock in the morning we had to judge the fair trade flags the winner was Lorcan Carrol. When the parents and grandparents came we welcomed them and gave them a sticker with a quote on it.
On the tables were lots of fairtrade products such as kit kats, apples, bananas and biscuits (it looked very tasty) 🙂

Then when lots of parents were at the coffee morning some Reception children came in and said a little speech,

Today the eco council held a coffee morning for the parents. TOTAL RAISED DONATIONS = £35.95 🙂
We had a lot of people come including open the book. Me, Eve, Grace, Isaac, and Oliver (eco council) had to judge the best fair trade flag competition. It was hard but we chose Lorcan’s. We started off with some fair trade school work from each class, then we had mixed groups for fairtrade raps, they were so good 😉

I had a normal drum
Today year 5 went to Prestatyn high to do music. We had to sing, ‘What shall we do with a drunken sailor?’ For the first verse we had to sing harmony with another group. After we sang we had to look at the board and look at the notes. We called the notes coff-ee and tea. We had to clap to the rhythm then we got instruments I had a normal drum and Alex had a hand drum.

We beat to the rhythm
Harley
On Tuesday 7th March, Year 5 went to my sister’s school (Prestatyn High). Our teacher was called Mr Arnaoutis. He was teaching music. First we sang a song and had 2 different parts to sing. We beat to the rhythm with drums. One of us used Double Agogo bells and a djembe. We used beaters and did a crossword.
