The big day !!!
This year our school play was Joseph and the amazing Technicolour dream coat. I got 2 parts: I was Mrs Potiphar and Asher -a brother to Joseph. When I was on stage I felt really nervous, but when I got of stage I felt really good that I did it.

Hello this is Finlay. I am going to tell you about the play.

I was Zebulun, one of the brothers, and it was fun doing it. My favourite song was ‘Go go go Joseph’. I wore a shepherd’s outfit and some sandals. The play was about 1 hour long- believe me it felt so much longer! I was a little bit scared on stage because there was a lot of people watching me. But I got through it. I was proud of my self. It was my last play in this school and it was the best.

In the Christmas play I was one of the Narrators. Cerys, Freya, Jessica and Grace were the other Narrators. Originally the part was for one person but we all wanted the part so Miss Fisher said we could. The play wasn’t a normal play, it was a musical, so no one had words to say- it was just singing. Some people sang on their own and Narrators, the brothers and the choir sang in groups. The Play was called Joseph and his technicolour dream coat. Alex was playing Joseph.
The Narrators and I were wearing our school polo shirt, black leggings, black socks, pony tail, black shoes and a Christmas headband. My favourite song was ‘Strange as it Seems’.

Our school garden project!

We have been doing this project since after the summer holidays. We are all enjoying it. Our aim is to produce our own plants and vegetables.

Our target is to get a better environment and grow our own vegetables we are an ECO friendly school.

We started off with improving Pat’s garden. Pat is one of the grandparents of a former pupil of this school.
We had a donation to make a garden for Pat by her family. It was over grown and the beds were rotten so we had money from the PTA and we decided to re-new the vegetable beds. Mr Furneaux who is Mrs Furneaux’s father in law, he offered to make new vegetable beds. We weeded , cleared all the rocks, stones and we pruned all the trees.

We decided to move the compost bins to spare ground that we have not used for a long time. Mrs Richards donated square slabs and we decided to use them for the base of our compost bins. Mrs Hughes did it all in a couple of hours.

We decided to make a fire pit in the garden to burn sticks and etc. We helped Mrs Hughes dig out a hole for the fire pit, all the soil went on to the vegtable beds. The rocks that used around the fire pit were from Pat’s garden that we had spare.

We have erected a poly tunnel, we are yet to put vegetables in the beds, it was put up by Mr Furneaux , Mrs Furneaux and Mrs Hughes. We have been planning which vegetables to put in the beds in the tunnel!
Unfortunately it is winter so we will need to wait until the weather improves.
We had two spare new vegetable patches from pat’s garden.

On Monday the 20th of November, Alex and I went to Prestatyn High School. When we went yesterday it was our second time going. We were doing English. The first time we went we created a story about a superhero dog. When we went this time we did our corrections from last time. We typed up our corrections on the computer. After we did our corrections, we had to do an illustration for our story. I did my dog (Ash The Dash) in his superhero costume, in his little house.
We had a little bit of time for break time earlier than the Prestatyn High pupils. We had to go in when the bell went because we would have been in the way of the year eights! We went inside and carried on with our illustrations. When I finished my illustration, I started to do a design for my front cover for my story. I only got the paper and then it was lunch time! We went for lunch in a room called “Caffi enfys”. On the way to the lunch room from the library, it was very busy because we made the mistake of going for lunch when the bell went!
We went past people in the corridors and they were calling us small! When we got to the lunch room, we were sent table by table to get our lunch. After lunch we made it back to the library without being crushed!
When we got back to the library we carried on with designing our front cover. My front cover said “The Adventures Of An Adventurous Dog.” I did mine in bubble writing too! We waited for other people to finish their work then got into a big circle. It was 5 minutes until home time. In the middle of doing our front cover, a lady called Miss Read took us out to record our voices telling our story. Miss Read said that my voice is amazing because I have already got expression in my voice! I really liked her comment on my voice she was really kind.
When we were in a circle we played a game. We went round the circle like circle time. We all had to say a word to create a story. We could say any word we wanted to. We made up a silly story about a monkey. He had lost his blue jumper. Aliens took it! His sister was an egg in a shoe!
Once we had finished the story about the monkey, Miss Moore took us to the front door by reception to meet our parents . Alex took me back to school. PRESTATYN HIGH WAS GREAT! I made a friend called Emma. She was really friendly. A boy that was there this time wasn’t there last time. He became our friend. His name was Brailee. Miss Moore was a really nice teacher. I can’t wait until next time!

On Monday I went to Prestatyn High to learn about English. This is my second time , and last time we started to learn a bit about how to create a story.

When we found out that we were making our own stories me and Cerys didn’t think we would do it, but we just had to get started. We had a couple of sheets for verbs and adjectives for us to not only learn for our stories but also to use to impress our teacher at school.

So this time we had to go back onto our story on the computer and improve our work. We also added some work onto the story just to make the story more exciting. We had a little break but we had to go back in when the bell went otherwise we would be crushed by the year eights!

We read a book for a bit so we could get some ideas about what to include in our story. It was then time for lunch and it was very busy going from the library and back but we made it back alive.

We then began to leave the story for a bit so we could create an image of our super hero as the story was based a super hero image. Now my super hero was called Super Storm the dog and his power (at the end of the story) is that he can change from dog form to human form and back again. So on my illustration I split the page in half. I drew what I thought the dog would look like and what the human would look like. Now, like I said, the dog is called Storm but I named the human hero a proper human name; Alex Williams because if you have a hero in disguise but you have a strange hero name that’s not going to work out is it?

Once we had done this we designed our front cover for our story, as we are suppose to sell our books! My front cover said in bubble writing “THE DOG WHO HAS FUN” and I was quite impressed with my self although I forgot to colour it in. Once we had done this we all had our work looked at by Miss Wood the transition co-ordinater and apparently she was very very impressed. We finally had to record our voices saying the story because we will be getting the CD of our story and I had to do it twice because I coughed but other than that it was a good whole day at Prestatyn High.

At Pentrellyn it was FANTASTIC! We went canoeing, rock climbing, we did bushcraft, we roasted MARSHMALLOWS ! and made PIZZA !

When we went canoeing Mrs Fisher said the first one to get Mrs Hughes got a merit, but she soaked me first! I got her in the end. We jumped in and the water was really cold .

When we went rock climbing- I got to the top . When we did bushcraft we made a little den for Bob (Bob isn’t real) and we met Jim, he had a dog called Brack. Brack was really cute. When we made the pizza I put pineapple on my half .

I was in a bedroom with: Lillia, Summer, Lucy, Evie, Abbie, Daisy. We stayed up until three am. I got really tired.

We had hot chocolate and biscuits. We went on a night walk. We walked five miles. Mrs Hues gave me a piggy back but I walked most of the way. My friends had a pillow fight but I didn’t. We drew some pictures. I didn’t want to leave Pentrellyn, I had lots of fun .

Pentrecllyncymer was amazing! We went: canoeing, abseiling, rock climbing, made pizzas made sandwiches, bushcraft and we played lots and lots around the building. This trip will bring back lots of memories.

At 9;00 we had a hot chocolate and a biscuit. Then we had a play in our dorm- Tegid.

The first day we did an activity with Jim and Brac the dog. We did rock climbing and abseilng. First we played ‘the floor is lava’ on the wall. It was fun! Abbie and I won the game. Next we had to climb around the whole wall. I fell off once. Next we got the harnesses on and then we got to climb to the top of the climbing wall. We abseiled down.

After tea time we did a night walk, which was cool but a bit scary. We went through the woods which I thought was amazing. It was funny because Summer fell in the mud and she got her bottom muddy!

After the walk we went back to Pentre and then we went to bed.

The next day we had breakfast; cereal and sausages. It was yummy! After that we made sandwiches for lunch- they were really nice! After that we went canoeing. We had to wind the fish and we were going from side to side on the canoe. It was fun. Then we all jumped in! It was soooooooo cold!

After the canoeing we got ready to do bushcraft. Bushcraft is super cool. We first made a den for Bob then we made one for ourselves. We toasted marshmallows on the fire then smores!!

After we made pizzas and did a picture search, then we went to the shop.

The next day we did a walk to the Alwen lake. Next we sadly went back to school on the bus ;( However,  I was happy to come back to see my mum and dad and family and friends. We said goodbye to the team and Gronant and Trelogan.BYE BYE Pentrecllyncymer!!!!
