On Monday 23rd April year 6 went to Nant BH. The first thing we did was sit in a circle talking to our instructor called Cheryl. After that we were shown around the building and shown to our dorms. We had to make our beds and unpack.
Once we had unpacked we went for lunch. We had jacket potato. I had coleslaw on top of mine with salad on the side. Then Cheryl told us what to wear. So we went back to our dorms and we got dressed. We had to wear our swimming costume, a t-shirt and then over that we had to wear a wet suit with shorts on top. Once we had all of that on we were ready to go gorge walking. We had to walk up really steep hills to get to the place where we were going gorge walking. My legs were hurting before we even got to the top!! When we got to the top of the gorge, Cheryl said “What ever goes up must go down!” In one place of the gorge, Miss Fisher was catching us so we didn’t go in the water, so when Mia came down Miss Fisher didn’t catch her so they both fell in!! Then we went through the elephant’s bum! When I went through it was so scary because I couldn’t see what was in front of me because Alex was blocking my sight!! We had to go down a slippy rock and go down the rock that was like a slide!! I landed with my whole body in the water! THE WATER WAS FREEZING!!!!
Once we had done all of that walking we went back to the mini bus and went back to the drying room. When we got to the drying room we had to hang the wet clothes up so that they could dry. We also had to wear trainers and mine were soaking. We had to make sure that all of our wet clothes were off before we could go back to our dorms. So after we did all of that we went to our dorms and got dressed into our dry clothes. Then we went to dinner. We had Pasta, it was so nice. One of the members of staff called Jamie sent us to get our correct clothing and to go to the classroom. He told us how to orienteer. I was in a group with Alex and Freya. We were called “Outer Darkness.” Finlay’s group won, they were called “Cosmic Unicorn”. It was really funny because when the mini bus horn went off (that means time is up if you haven’t finished already) and we were waiting in the classroom for about 10 minutes for Seth and Liam because they didn’t hear the horn! After all of that day we went to the games room. We played in there for about 1 hour. Then we were sent to get our pjs on and went into the dinner hall for hot chocolate and biscuits. Then we went to our dorms and it was lights out at 10:15.
The next day I was pretending to be asleep and all of the girls thought I was dead. Freya smacked my bum and I was trying not to laugh! The last time they shouted me I sat up and said “Yo people!” We did our teeth and everything anmd then we went to breakfast. First we had cereal and I had cheerios. Then I had bacon and smiley faces. Then we had to get dressed into activity clothes and got a harness on and a helmet and we went down to the mine. It was really fun!!
