Harley

On Tuesday 7th March, Year 5 went to my sister’s school (Prestatyn High). Our teacher was called Mr Arnaoutis. He was teaching music. First we sang a song and had 2 different parts to sing. We beat to the rhythm with drums. One of us used Double Agogo bells and a djembe. We used beaters and did a crossword.

Yr 5 went to Prestatyn High school on 7th of March. This time we did music with a teacher. We did notes like tea cof fee tea cof fee. After that we grabbed our instruments and played them.

First we got to Prestatyn with Trelogan and Gronant schools. Trelogan and Gronant went to do Tech and made keyrings but we went to music with Mr Arnaoutis. We learnt a song called ‘Drunken sailor’ and warmed our voices. We also learnt how to: read notes with tea and cof-fee cool 🙂 and matched the sound to the instrument

Seth and Will’s blog

On Thursday, Yr 5 went to Prestatyn High. When we got to the school we went to the music department. We sang, “What shall we do with a  drunken sailor?” with Mr Arnaousa. After, we played with drums and did a quiz about music and went back to school at 11:30.

Yesterday me and Jake went to Holywell High for a MAT maths day. We went in and sat down to a table and then we met our teacher for the day. There were also some older students as well = Jack, Josh, and two other girls who I can’t remember 😉 .

We started off with fractions. We have done a lot of adding and subtracting fractions so it was quite easy. Me and Jake were the ONLY ones to go straight on to section C – they all said it was too hard, but we STILL found it quite easy 🙂

We then had a break with toast and orange juice mmmmmmm 😉 We did a little more + and – with fractions and then we moved on to Multiplying and DIVIDING with fractions which we had never done. The X – ing was simple = you times the numerator X numerator and the denominator X denominator and there’s your answer. For dividing she showed us a video of how you do it = KEEP, CHANGE, FLIP. You KEEP the first fraction, CHANGE the divide sign to a times sign and FLIP the second fraction. So say it was three fifths – it would flip to five thirds which was a bit confusing 😉 I got it though.
We had lunch, which was good, and then after lunch we carried on X – ing and dividing. We then did some percentage work which was easy. Jake struggled on it a bit. 😉

We then did this grid which had proportion, fraction and decimal questions on. The last bit we did was a fraction washing line. We had a WASHING LINE and pegs and we had to put the fractions IN ORDER (any fraction we wrote by the way) in between 0 and 1
By that time it was two thirty so we headed downstairs to meet Jake’s mum and Archie (Jake’s brother) said, “Look – it’s that girl from the car, AND Jakie!” We got back and when we walked through the hall I felt like a celebrity 🙂

Yesterday, on the 6th March, I went to Holywell High School for a maths session. First we had some fraction circles and we had to colour them all. Next, we only coloured one of the fractions on each circle.
Next we had to do some adding+ and taking away-, me and Seren tried section C. I got 2 of mine wrong and seren muddled up and tried to copy me 😉 but for me it was fine.

After then we had some toast and juice. Then we did some multiplying and division work and they showed a video and it talked about Keep, Change and Flip. It was an awesome video.

Monday the 6th of march 2017. We had to get to school at 8:30. We ordered a dinner and went on RM maths. After that the bus was here so we walked outside in partners, I was with Harley. It took nearly 10 minutes to get to Prestatyn high school.

When we got there we saw Jacob, Josef, Daniel, Dylan and James. We went to the library then we went to the computer room. Ben B knocked on the door  Miss Robinson said, “Find a computer.” So I got on a computer and she said to type in hour of code. We went on the hour of code website but it said it had smooth wall.

On Monday Yr 5 went to Prestatyn high. When we got there we went inside to the reception (we saw people long gone from this school). I looked down a hole radiator thing and saw people’s homework and exams and pennies. Then we went in class Mrs Robinson was our teacher.

At first We had to get to school at eight thirty . And then the Coach arrived. I was Ben’s partner and when we got to there Ben said to me just keep my head down but I didn’t listen to a thing he said.

The only member of my family that I saw was Dylan and he just couldn’t stop grinning and all his friends were staring at me.  Next we all took a seat in the library until the corridors were empty and we saw Mia Blanchard walk in the library  and she was trying so hard to ignore us.  And then we were taken to our room were Miss Robinson was and we all took a seat and got started.

On the 6 of March Year 5 went to Prestatyn high school. We did animations. My favourite animation was Seth`s because there was a dog that back flipped in to a car.
